Basic Waffles

by Candace Sampson

Don’t be intimidated by waffles. They are ridiculously easy to make and fast. You will need a waffle maker though, which you can find in all sizes, shapes and price ranges. If you’re looking for another delicious waffle recipe, try this one here.

Basic Waffle Recipe

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tbsp. canola oil
Milk to desired consistency

Stir dry ingredients. Add slightly beaten egg. Add oil. Stir in milk until easy to stir but still thick. Pour into prepared waffle iron.

Pleasantville Note: I’m a big fan of doubling recipes and this is a perfect one to do it for. Freeze extras between layers of wax paper in an air tight container. Heat in microwave during the week for quick breakfasts

Thank you for this recipe. I will try it with my family tomorrow. I LOVE your idea of freezing them to be heated for quick breakfasts. I hadn’t thought of that. Great tip! familyfoodtravel.blogspot.ca
