We call these Santa’s Favorite Cookies because when we put these out he didn’t leave any behind. Not one. Santa also left a note saying “Please make these again”. That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?  I love these cookies because they are so easy to make after mass on Christmas Eve and the kids can help every step of the way.

Santa’s Favorite Cookies

1  cup            butter at room temperature
2/3 cup        sugar
1  tsp             vanilla extract
2  cups          all purpose flour
1/4 cup         cocoa
48                  Hershey’s Kisses
Powdered Sugar

Heat oven to 350. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl until creamy. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Mold scant tablespoon dough around each chocolate piece, covering completely. Shape into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool about 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack . Cool completely. Roll in powdered sugar. Roll in sugar again just before serving, if desired. About 4 Dozen Cookies.
