Bacon Cheddar Apple Scones

By //  by Candace Sampson

Nothing says lovin' like baked goods and these Bacon Cheddar Apple Scones scream love. For starters, who doesn't love warm scones from the oven? Secondly, bacon. Third, cheese. Honestly, need I say more? I either had you at bacon or cheddar, but either way you know these babies are right up your alley. That's why I chose these Bacon Cheddar Apple Scones for my February Life Made Delicious post, since February is all about the love. We're loving each other on Valentine's day and loving our …

Basic Banana Bread

By //  by Candace Sampson

Let's face it, banana bread has been around forever, so the variations are endless. You can make it with buttermilk, sour cream, apple sauce, flax seed, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, cinnamon and chocolate chips. You can even bake it in a skillet. It's the Bubba Gump Shrimp of the dessert bread world.  So now that we have that out of the way, here is your basic banana bread – that is to say you probably have everything in the house right now — recipe. Basic Banana Bread 5 cups …

Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins

By //  by Candace Sampson

I love baking all the treats for my family's lunches. The best way to ensure that I'm not standing at the oven daily though is to bake in large quantities and freeze in portions for quick lunch-packing in the morning. This recipe makes 24 muffins and one loaf. I love nuts in zucchini bread but most schools have a no nut policy. If you don't intend to send these to school, cut back on the chocolate chips by half and add in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins 6 …

Recipe for Tortillas

By //  by Candace Sampson

My husband knows I'm a total carb whore. He uses this knowledge to his advantage, not by being my Sugar Daddy, but by being my Bread Pusher. Not only can he bake up delicious loaves of bread and soft buns, but he also makes his own naan! Total enabler that man. Now, he's moved onto homemade tortillas! You know what this means, right? I can never leave him. Sly like a fox that guy. Recipe for Tortillas 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour; more for kneading and rolling 1 tsp. table …

Raspberry Scones

By //  by Candace Sampson

I use the word "easy" in a lot of my recipes because I believe that cooking/baking should be just that. Most of us don't have the time for fussy. Personally, I like to leave the fussy stuff for Sundays. This recipe for scones is a weekday morning thing and it's one of my girls favorite breakfasts with a tall glass of milk. I found this recipe in an Everyday Cooking magazine a couple of years ago. Raspberry Scones 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for work surface 1/4 cup …

How to Get The Sleep You Need When Life Keeps You Up

Dinner On The Go: When the Dining Room is a Minivan

Everything You Know About Winter Tires is Wrong And What You Need to Do About It!

I was recently invited to attend a Kal Tire driving event in Edmonton and obviously, I surmised, it was because of my mad driving skills. I figured they'd heard how I can do 0-60 without spilling my tea, how I can …
