I have a slight addiction to a social media website called Pinterest. You may have heard of it. It’s like crack, only more addictive and slightly harder to kick. Anyhoo, I found this 30 Day Mom Challenge a long time ago and I kept meaning to do it, but would get caught up pinning other cool things I wanted to do and would forget about it. So, finally, I’ve decided that November is the month to follow through.
What I like about this “mom-challenge” is it’s a reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things in life. Your children. So when I say small, I mean GIGANTIC, right? Yet, often, we lose sight of those little things as we pursue our own passions or get caught up in work. Even just the daily grind, can cause you to sometimes go an entire day without really connecting with your kids. I don’t think we have to have deep, earth-shattering moments every day with our kids, but I do think we need to let them know they’re our top priority. I am guilty of sometimes letting this happen. This challenge is like a great big giant reset button. None of these things will take an enormous amount of time, but I’m confident it’s going to make a difference to my children and to me. I’m also certain that it’s going to cause me to seriously look at some of my less than *ahem* stellar character traits. There’s always room for improvement.
If you’d like to join me, let me know. Day 1 starts November 1, but you can start anytime.
