Keeping Your Senior Dog Healthy With Purina Pro Plan Bright Mind

Most people think I’m kidding when I say that my favourite child is my dog, but my other three children will tell you, it’s no joke. For the last ten years, Honey has been the child that I dote on every single day, and why wouldn’t I? Honey snuggles on command, she’s never been sick, she’s always happy to see me, never cops a surly attitude, and loves me unconditionally. This dog has brought me nothing less than pure joy for the last ten years, and that’s why I take such good care of her now.

My kids tease me when I come home with orthopaedic beds for every room in the house for her, but I know those old joints struggle some days. Heck, my old joints struggle some days. So just like I take preventative measures to ensure I live a long productive life, I do the same for Honey—I want her company for a long time to come.

Honey and I aren’t that different from each other really. Here’s just a few examples:

  • I can’t eat what I used to and neither can she. Weight just seems easier to gain and harder to lose.
  • I could do a cartwheel until 46, at 47 I couldn’t. Honey used to be able to jump up on our bed, now she can’t. (Now we lift her up and down, because nothing is better than doggo snuggles.)

  • I can never remember where I left my car keys. Honey sometimes forgets simple things too, like where on earth did she bury that bone?

That’s why Purina developed Pro Plan Bright Mind. Pro Plan Bright Mind Adult 7+ contains enhanced botanical oils shown to promote alertness and mental sharpness in dogs 7+ within 30 Days.

October is Pet Wellness Month, so Honey and I have partnered with Purina Canada to raise awareness that preventative care is the easiest way to help your favourite furry beast live a long and productive life. Check out our stories and pictures (and others) over on Instagram or by following the hashtag #ProPlanHealthyAging. Join in the conversation and share your best tips for helping your dog live a long, happy life.

Honey is thrilled to be giving one lucky winner a Purina Innovation Box and a supply of Purina Pro Bright Mind. (ARV $140) Use the Rafflecopter giveaway below to enter! Contest is open to Canadians only (excluding Quebec) and closes November 1st at 11:59pm.

The SMALL BREED CHICKEN & RICE FORMULA (Bright Mind, Adult 1+) is perfect for my currently dull minded dog. The dog pictured on the package is a King Charles Cavalier (which is half of what my sweet little mutt is – he’s a Cockalier).
