sandals foundation sea life

When traveling I tend to gravitate to companies and agencies that don’t just pay lip service to being good corporate citizens, they actually do something. Part of the reason I sing the praises of Sandals and Beaches to friends and family is because of their hard work and honest dedication in making the communities they live in better for all, not just the tourists.

A few years ago we were lucky enough to travel to a school in Jamaica to see how the Sandals Foundation helps with education initiatives across the country. It was an amazing experience.

Since that time I’ve kept up with all the work they do on the Sandals Foundation website. Their three core focuses are, Community, Education and Environment. As a scuba diver that truly loves the beauty of the ocean, I am always disheartened to see the damage we cause. Broken reefs, garbage, pollution….it’s enough to make me want to weep. I was thrilled to see this drop in my inbox recently from Sandals and wanted to share it with you since I think it does a great job of sharing their commitment to cleaning up some of the damage.
