Summer is Here, Where Will You Go?

by Candace Sampson

It seems like only yesterday I was sharing my summer vacation plans for 2013 with you. In the blink of an eye, it’s a year later and I’ve already had a couple of fun trips to kick off summer and a few more planned to do it in style. First, what I’ve done.

Old Montreal

A romantic weekend for two was exactly what my husband and I needed and Old Montreal served as the ideal backdrop for us. Filled with Old World charm, New World ideals and an endless selection of gourmet eateries, Old Montreal is the perfect place to spend some time not talking about your children and remembering why you fell in love with that guy you see everyday.

Beaches, Turks & Caicos

What can only be described as the crown jewel in the Beaches brand, the Turks & Caicos resort along Grace Bay is the ultimate in luxury family vacations. With the newly opened Key West Luxury Villages, there are now four villages to choose from. No matter which one you pick in the end, you’ll be booking your next holiday to come back before you leave. Look for great deals now in the off-season. Get ready to marvel at the bluest water in the Caribbean. Ahhh.

What’s next……

Lake George

We’re heading off to Lake George in Upstate New York for a weekend in our RV. Lake George is a postcard perfect escape surrounded by mountains, clear lakes, streams and, an outlet mall or two. See you really can have it all? One of favourite things to do is take a boat ride around the lake and ooh and aah over the luxury homes of those who escape the city for the summer.

summer vacation plans

Ontario Highlands

Getting away with the kids is fun, but don’t neglect your girlfriends. I’ll be hitting the road with two of my best girls to find all the charming nooks and crannies in Ontario Highlands. It’ll be like Thelma & Louise, except we’ve got one extra and we’re definitely not going over a cliff. Follow the hashtag #OHLetsGo to join in the fun.

summer vacation plans

Canada Day & Independence Day

Oh we’re doing it right this year, celebrating patriotism on both sides of the border. First, we’ll be proudly waving the red and white in Ottawa for the biggest celebration in Canada. Once we’ve recovered from that, we’ll be hitting New York City for the July 4th celebrations. Who will do it better? I’ll be the first to let you know.

White Water Rafting

We’re kicking up our family reunion a notch and getting everyone out on the rapids this summer. Who wants to toss a frisbee anyway? I’m pretty sure this will be the ultimate get-together for my husband’s crazy family, plus it’s going to make for some interesting blog fodder.

Amazing adventures! I would love to be able to go like that.

My favourite thing is that you are so happy on your travels and it totally shows in your photos. 🙂

You’re going to need a vacation from all your adventures!

Hubs & I are headed to Bahhhst-inn this summer for 5 days. I’m already thinking we need to extend it.
