5 Entertaining Line Waits at Walt Disney World

5 Entertaining Line Waits at Walt Disney World

Summer holidays come and go in the blink of an eye, Fridays are the best; Mondays are not, and you’ll be waiting in some long lines for rides and attractions during your Walt Disney World vacation—all of these things are facts. I can’t help you with the summer holidays and Monday/Friday facts, but I can offer some reassurance when it comes to those lineups at Disney.

If you can’t score a FastPass for certain attractions, know that there are some queues that go above and beyond to make the waits a little more bearable. They’re interactive and aim keep you and your kids occupied. So now that you’ve planned out most of your Disney vacation, you fully understand how MagicBands work, and you’re prepared for the Florida heat you’ll be soon encountering, here are 5 entertaining line waits at Walt Disney World (in no particular order) that will keep you happy while you slowly making your way to the main event:

Spoiler Alert: I don’t spoil the experiences in each description but if you choose to watch each video, know that it will take you from the beginning of the line to the end of the attraction. If you haven’t been on the ride before and you don’t like spoilers, skip the video and take my word that waiting in these lines will make the time pass a little quicker 🙂

Hollywood Tower of Terror (Hollywood Studios)

If you like thrill rides, then this is a must-do. All of the fine details on the way to the haunted elevators will have you enjoying your line wait and truly make you feel as if you are in a haunted hotel.

The Haunted Mansion (Magic Kingdom)

You won’t be bored in this line because from the moment you step into it, there are many fun and interactive details that will have you wondering how that long wait went by so quickly.

Enchanted Tales with Belle (Magic Kingdom)

While waiting in line for this attraction, you’ll get to take a walk through Belle’s cottage which is filled, again, with tiny details that the imagineers really took their time with when designing. The cottage is just the first part of your wait, the second part will have you and your kids interacting with “Madame de la Grande Bouche” aka: the wardrobe from the movie Beauty and the Beast.

Dumbo the Flying Elephant (Magic Kingdom)

Since this ride is a classic, the line up is always a long one (like Peter Pan’s Flight). What makes waiting to fly with Dumbo bearable is the very cool indoor play area you and your kids will love.

Journey of the Little Mermaid (Magic Kingdom)

Since this is one of those rides that is constantly taking on guests and letting guests off, this queue is constantly moving to get you through as quickly as possible. Along the way, you’ll feel as if you are “under the sea!” When in line for this attraction, look down at the ground to see some more fun detailing.

I’ve just mentioned 5 entertaining line waits at Walt Disney World here but there are many other interactive lines at the Walt Disney World Resort. Which are your favourites?
