A Bunny Worthy Easter Brunch

By //  by Dee Brun Leave a Comment

Easter Brunch is one of my favorite things. I think because it is an official sign that summer is finally on it's way. The colors of Easter are pretty and fun. Brunch in itself is FABOOSH because it is served late enough in the morning it is more than acceptable to have a cocktail. After all brunch without alcohol is just a sad late breakfast...and of course there is the chocolate. SO...let's start with THE BOOZE!! I love a good morning Sangria. The key is to keep it simple. A nice …

Not really sure what I can say here besides, BACON! BOOZE! How about, “You’re welcome?” Yes, that sums things up nicely. Now go enjoy responsibly. Are you still here? If you’re new to the drinks world — or not Canadian — a standard Caesar is made with vodka, clamato juice, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass with a piece of celery as a garnish. Thursday Night Cocktail: Apple Pie On The Rocks

By //  by Katja Wulfers 5 Comments

This is not your Grandma’s apple pie. Or maybe it is your Grandma’s apple pie, but it’s the one she hid in the kitchen and likely the reason she had to go back just once more to bring out the extra cups or napkins or a smidge more whipped cream, every time she hosted family dinners. Think about it! Grandma was gone a lot and didn’t she lose some of her social filters as the evening wore on? Who can blame her? Hosting family dinners for so many consecutive years calls for a bit of …

How to Stock your Bar

Let the CLINK CLINK games begin! How to Stock Your Bar for the Holidays

By //  by Dee Brun Leave a Comment

Well once again it is "THAT" time of the year..."THAT" time to... deck the halls, trim the tree , silver your bells and put on your happy host face. You know what helps with that happy host face? BOOZE! Unless your guest list includes Kid Rock, P. Diddy and Charlie Sheen, stocking your bar for a looming seasonal event is really quite simple. The key thing to remember is that, just as in life, you can’t make everyone happy. (Relatives are always proof of this. If Uncle Ted enjoys a nip of a …

Five Best Summer Hostess Gifts

By //  by Katja Wulfers 2 Comments

An old standby for any hostess is a bottle of her favourite wine, or yours if you have ulterior motives and if her usual wine selection leaves you parched. Traditional gift options range from flowers to jars of ingredients for delicious desserts to candles, and these are all welcome gifts, but since this is summer and the living is easy… let’s not make our hostesses actually do anything and give them something they can enjoy right out of the box. Five Best Summer Hostess Gifts PITCHER …
