Spooky Snacks the Kids Will Love!
Is anyone else into the whole theme food idea? I think it’s fun to make snacks that reflect the nearest holiday! The kids really enjoy them! These fun healthy Halloween snacks are super easy to throw together!
Healthy Halloween snacks may sound like a contradiction of words but healthy and Halloween can co-exist just fine. Who said it has to be all about the candy? Well yes, Halloween does usually mean candy but candy doesn’t have dibs. I think the kids get plenty of sugar while trick or treating so I am all for some good old healthy snacks that are fun for them to eat.
The kids will be thrilled with these banana ghosts and clementine pumpkins! They are SO cute and there’s just enough chocolate to grab their attention but it won’t send them into a sugar spin.
If you are supplying snacks for your kid’s school Halloween party, the teacher is going to kiss you! If you aren’t then try making them at home and I am pretty sure the kids will devour them and even want to help make them.
All you will need for this spooktacular snack are:
- Chocolate chips
Making them is super easy, I know right? You don’t have to be crafty at all to make these fun snacks. The way I do it is I peel one clementine and half a banana for each child. Make sure the bananas are ripe but not so ripe they have black spots. Black spots are not cool and the kid’s will turn their nose up at them. You want nice white bananas to make ghosts. Using three chocolate chips and press them into the top of the banana to form two eyes and a mouth. Cute right? You have little banana ghosts! Oh, don’t make them too far in advance or you’ll have little black ghosts. Next, you can make a pumpkin stem for the clementines with your slivers of celery. Insert the celery into the top of the clementine. Presto! You have pumpkins!!
