Nutella Raspberry Smoothie

by Candace Sampson

My ten year old daughter is a chip off the old block. She loves being in the kitchen, possibly even more than I do. Last week she made this Nutella Raspberry Smoothie which she found in an internet search and then modified to make it her own. I watched with a raised eyebrow because I wasn’t sold on how this was going to taste, but to my delight, it’s wonderful.

The ingredients are simple and if you don’t have almond milk, you can definitely use milk. Encourage your kids to join you in the kitchen and come up with their own smoothie concoctions!

Wow! I am impressed with your shopping – $100 right on the nose. I try to shop at WalMart for groceries when I can, as you can def. save money there.

Oooh, YUM! I have all those ingredients, except for the wheat germ I think. Might be a silly q, but what does the wheat germ do for a smoothie? Could I leave it out?

Hi Aeryn, You can absolutely make this without the wheatgerm but it does add some extra nutrition if you do have it. Benefits of wheatgerm can be found here: http://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/food-nutrition/natural-foods/natural-weight-loss-food-wheat-germ-ga.htm
