how to travel with a group

Win a Week At Global Resort Homes With Your Favorite People

by Candace Sampson

I’ve been talking a lot about traveling with groups lately. Whether it’s traveling with girlfriends, or a group of family friends or maybe your extended family, I think traveling as a group is great fun. To me there’s no better way to do this then to stay in a home, and in the Orlando/Kissimmee area the best of the best is Global Resort Homes.

global resort home stay

With over 300 properties to choose from, Global Resort Homes has been helping make memories for families and groups for over 20 years now. As a guest of Global Resort Homes myself, I can attest to the high standard each these homes are held to. Impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and close to all amenities, you’ll truly feel like you’re in your home away from home.

So who wants to escape the polar vortex? Right, that’s what I thought. So here’s your chance to get away from it all and be the hero by taking your favourite people with you! Don’t forget to forward this to them so they can enter too and increase your odds of winning!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Contest is open to residents of Canada and the United States ONLY, ages 18+. Global Resort Homes is solely responsible for the delivery of this prize, black out dates do apply. The winner will have one year to book and claim their prize. The home will be selected to fit the needs of the winner with a minimum size of 4 bedrooms. What an amazing contest! I would love to bring our extended family on a trip to a Global Resort Home in Florida! It would be great to have a place to hang out together, and I’m sure they’d enjoy everything about it. I have no doubt the private pool would be the biggest hit!

    Great contest!

How can you not love a vacation with a private pool? 🙂 And with food allergies having a kitchen is the only way to travel. These places look great.

This prize looks fabulous! Who wouldn’t enjoy such great accommodations….It would be great to have everyone stay in one place. In the dead of winter, I dream of sunshine!

    Oh Florida… I’ve missed you.

As a family we would definitely love the downtime that a Global Resort Home can offer. With 2 LO (well not so little but 4 & 7) having a place where they can relax and lots of room to run around instead of a hotel room would be perfect! Yes they would have lots of running around at Disney but this would be totally free time for them! 🙂

  11. Catherine Burden

I’ve only ever stayed at a resort once, this would be nice to win.

I have to say… this would be a dream vacation. Thanks for hosting the contest. I would love having a pool and a house with a kitchen (eating out cuts so much into a vacation budget).

I not a lover of winter to begin with, so this one is really bumming me out. I would love to head south for a little break. With a family of 6 it is really hard (and expensive) to get away though, so this would be super awesome. Fingers crossed:)

  14. Sandra

We are planning a trip to Florida in the near future because we have never been and our kids want to visit Disney! This would be awesome!

  15. Pam Dillon

    at

ME me me! We’ve never been to Florida. Ever. It would be so incredibly epically life-afirmably awesome. And a major switch from “travelling” to Food Basics to buy oranges for a taste of the south. : )

  16. Kelli Catana (@kellidaisy)

Oooooh this looks awesome! I would love to win this one!

the one thing I’d love to do the most is go back to Disney! My kids love it there (who doesn’t)! And my best advice for travelling with a group is to be flexible! Everyone needs to be heard to enjoy their trip.

  18. Robert T

    at

Definitely all the space! We wouldn’t all have to be on top of each other.

can i say I loved it all????? loved the entire post! I can see staying in a home is more enjoyable for all families instead of a hotel. yall had so much room and amenities!

  20. Colleen

    at

I could do with a holiday with the kids…and a visit to Seaworld!

  21. GwenGwen

I think the thing we’d enjoy the most is feeling like we are at home and not in a hotel!

  22. Anna

    at

This will be an amazing escape from this frigid weather. Boo for the polar vortex. 🙂 It is summer yet?

  23. Anna

    at

I would take my friends and experience everything and anything that Kissimmee has to offer. We can start with the theme parks and then hit all of the festivals and events. Great way to take in the culture of the city.

  24. Anna

    at

Advice – You can prevent most problems by setting the right expectations in advance. Disclosing as many details or limitations as possible before a trip helps people have the right expectations.

  25. Anna

    at

I think we would all enjoy the downtime and the privacy. Any escape from the our daily lives to catch your breath, even for just a week, would be a pick-me-up. Much need in most cases. 🙂

I need outta here please !!

  27. Jean

relax and swim. Plus having a kitchen is great with all my food allergies–easier to cook in a real kitchen and not a motel

I’m game. With me in Toronto and my sisters in Vancouver and San Francisco, we try to get together once a year. That private oasis with with a pool in Kissimmee looks an excellent place for us to eat, drink, dance, swim and play 😀

    Disney!!!

  34. Sarah Robinson

I haven’t been to Florida since I was in Grade 6 (and I won’t tell you how many years ago that was lol!). Would love to go back and be a kid again 🙂

  35. Katja

Nice contest! I’ll pack my bags, ok?

  36. Leslie Scott

    at

I have always wanted to go to Disney, and as kids, we never went – it was too expensive for a family of 5 to do something like that back then. I’d love to go and experience this with both sides of our family – including the 2 nieces and 2 nephews who would have an absolute BLAST.

  37. Kim gorny

    at

    Amazing contest!!!

  38. Tracy M.

    at

This would be great! We are in desperate need of a vacation around here. Last time me and hubs took a good vacation was 6 years ago.

  39. Tracy M.

    at

It’s been so long since I’ve been to Florida, it would be great to go back to Walt Disney World since I haven’t been there since I was a kid, and I think it would also be neat to check out Legoland.

  40. michelle tremblett

wow ! Incredible prize, we would spend our days in the pool and nights touring the town. thank you fir this amazing chance 🙂

  41. SandyT (@sassygirlcanada)

This is an awesome contest! My poor car has been miserable in this deep freeze weather, and so have I, lol. It has been a very rough winter so far. I could use time in the sun with my family, and enjoy exploring Disney and do some serious tanning!! Fingers crossed. 🙂

  42. mom2michael

I think having our own private pool would be the hit for us. Great place to relax with friends

  49. Suzanne Bastien

I would LOVE to get on an airboat with my best friends! We could get in so much trouble on one of those!

  50. paula schuck

    at

I would love to go visit Disney or tour around and explore more of Florida than we usually do. My tip for travelling with a group is to be prepared. Bring the things you need that are essentials and have them ready in a separate bag each day that is left near the door of your room or your resort space so that you aren’t the one everybody is left waiting for when the tour starts. That’s annoying and makes group travel annoying.

  51. Karen

    at

Never had a vacation with my two best girlfriends…it would be heaven. I am now giddy thinking of the possibilities…..

  52. Laurel O.

    at

I love how you have a beautiful place where you can relax and everyone has their own space with many bedrooms being available. I also love that you have your very own private pool!

  53. Alix

I could really use a lovely vacation. Would love to win! Thanks for the amazing opportunity!

  54. Dee Brun

I used to do this with my folks when I was little…Such a great way to spend a family vacation.

  55. Jacki Yovanoff

This is fabulous! Our large family doesn’t fit most contests. This would be perfect!!

  56. Heidi S

Just being with my family and friends relaxing, cooking, exploring would be amazing. But most of all, making memories!

  60. Kathy R.

Would LOVE to try their zip lining! Of course Disney and shopping too!!!

  61. chris g

I have been to Orlando before and in the mornings you can see hot air balloons floating across the sky near Disney. I would love to do that. Bet the view is amazing.

  62. Jenn W

    at

oh my goodness – this would be fabulous!!! Now, to decide on family, friends or both?? 🙂

  63. Matthew Tully (@Tullyman77)

    at

Everything, our family has talked about doing this for years but unless something like this would happen affordability wouldn’t be there as well as someone actually taking the time.

  64. kittypride

I would like to go to DisneyWorld and enjoy the atmosphere at some of those big Florida flea markets I’ve heard so much about 😀

  65. ChicagoDivaOnADime (@ChiDivaOnADime)

I would enjoy my first vacation with my son. Hes 14 and he has been on vacay with my Dad however, I havent been able to addord it. We would spend the day at the pool and check out the sites during this trip if I won. It would be family bonding time. I would also invite my best friend and her son who is a baby brother to my son. This would be a dream come true. We are so overdue.

  66. Leesa Johnson

    Awesome prize!

  67. Adrienne

    at

I don’t know about best friends, but this would be a great getaway to meet up with family who live in Florida.

  68. Shoreh S

    at

Advice – Providing all the details in advance. Letting everyone do their own thing for a bit each day. Not everyone has to be together 24/7.

  69. Shoreh S

    at

I think we enjoy the sun and the pool. It would be wonderful to get away from our daily lives for a week of fun in the sun.

I think just a chance to get away from here would be the best reason! Everything else is bonus!

  73. Sandy

Would LOVE to WIN a vacation to a Global Resort Homes destination! What would be even MORE exciting would be telling 13 other people that they get to go on vacation to Florida with me! What fun!

  74. Sandy

    at

My advice for travelling with a group? Respect each other and everyone’s different “likes” and ideas of what to do on vacation. Give everyone their own space to do what they want. Don’t feel offended if someone doesn’t want to do something you do.

  75. Shakira Whitton

    at

We stayed at a Global Resort home on our last Florida vacation. It was amazing and we would love to go again!!!!!

  76. Sandy

    at

What I’d most like to do in Kissimmee is head on over to Walt Disney World (etc) – of course!

  77. Sandy

    at

I think my group would most love the fact that we could all stay together in a beautiful house, in a great location that is close to so many great tourist attractions – something for everyone!

I would love to bring my hubby, daughter, & two grandchildren to experience all the magic in Orlando. Would like to see Blue Man Group and also go to Legoland. Of course, Disney, Universal, & SeaWorld would be a part of the magic. Would also like to go to Clearwater so my granddaughter, who has waited so long to meet Winter, can finally do so.

  86. Heather Streiner Lochner

  88. Saundra

I would of course go to Disney world 🙂 and maybe even go to Universal.

  89. Tina Cunningham

I so want this I need a vacation. We have family in Florida I would love to vist

  90. coffeewithjulie

    at

My kids have never been to Florida or Disney! So we would want to see Mickey and dip our toes in an awesome Global Resorts pool!!

  91. coffeewithjulie

    at

My best advice for travelling with a large group is to set ground rules in advance. For example, if someone really wants to make time for swimming in the pool in the afternoon, that should be known in advance so that no one is offended when that person decides to take some time alone and go for a dip rather than go on a shopping excursion.

  92. Marta Redding

    at

I would love to win a trip to Florida for my family and myself!

  93. Melanie

    at

I think we’d enjoy just about EVERYTHING about staying in a Global Resort Home. I love the idea of having a full kitchen. I can NOT eat fast food for an entire week and still feel good enough to spend long days at theme parks. I’m sure my group would LOVE having our own pool, too!

  94. Marta Redding

    at

I really need a vacation to warm, sunny Florida! I have been raising my 3 granddaughters’ for 12 years and haven’t had a vacation since before then. The girls’ and my husband and myself would love to be able to go! We also need some couple time alone! Thank You!

  95. Melanie

    at

Traveling with a group is hard, and I LOVE your suggestions. I think the biggest one for me is to be patient and easy going. You just can’t expect everything to go your way, so just be calm and do your part to make work as well as possible.

  96. Melanie

    at

I would love to do Disney for sure, but I am such a thrill junkie, there are so many more adventures I would love to have! I tried an air boat ride the last time I was in Florida, and the boat broke right before my group so we didn’t get to ride. That’s still on my list. The sky coaster looks amazing, and I would love to zipline over crocs. And hot air balloon rides? Yes, please.

  97. Anna

What a fun giveaway. I would love to stay in one of your homes.
