Top Ten Christmas Gifts for Tween Girls

by Candace Sampson

By Candace and Morgan Derickx

Shopping for a tween girl can be stressful. Let’s face it. They can be fickle little creatures. So, I sent my 10 year old daughter Morgan on a recon mission into the schoolyard to find out what tween girls really want this year. This is what she came back with. Morgan wrote the list, I added notes where necessary.

1) Laptops

The most popular thing was surprisingly a laptop. Who knew? I did.

2) Make Up Kits

Next up is a makeup kit. Ahhhh…. were growing up so fast.

3) Cell Phones

OMG I need a PHONE! Mom all of my friends have one!

4) Apple Products

MOM can I have more iThings? Hee hee this is so fun.

5) A Dog

Why can’t a dog be a girl’s best friend? Awwwwwwww look at that face who can resist? (Editor’s Note: Most experts say that giving a dog for Christmas is the worst thing you can do. It should never be on a whim, but a conscious decision. Choose wisely.)

6) Gift Cards/Money

Perfect for shopping sprees! (Editor’s Note: These are also fun gifts for mom.)

7) Stompeez

Who doesn’t want cute motion-activated slippers!

8) Justice

Clothes from Justice what a surprise? (Editor’s Note: For those that don’t know Justice is tween heaven and can sometimes look like someone threw up the 80s) (Morgan’s Note: Mom, you’re so old.)

9) One Direction Dolls

Who can resist? Zayn you are so mine! (Editor’s Note: Not a chance Morgan)

10) Guitar

Let your tween rockout with their very own guitar!OH YEAH BABY! (Editor’s Note: This mom suggests lessons to accompany said guitar or Advil)

*sniffle*sniffle* It’s been so fun but I need to leave the keypad (for now duh) but do take my advice because I just saved you so much trouble!
Bon voyage and a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah,
Morgan

Bio: Morgan is a precocious 10 year old who drives her mother crazy. She is also whip smart, gorgeous and the love of my life.

Thanks Morgan for helping me out with the list.
I think the resident tween will be receiving a laptop this holiday.

Love that girl. Can my son also love that girl in say, 12 years? 🙂

Oh, Morgan. This is a perfect list; you’ve captured everything a tween girl could want (my daughters included). Too bad it’s a no still for quite a few of them. Ha.
