Six Winter Coats That Are Stylish and Warm

by Candace Sampson

A round up of six winter coats that are stylish and warm in a range of price points. Winter | Fashion |Trendy

When you live in Canada, dressing for winter is a BIG deal. A puffy coat is likely a staple in many of our wardrobes, but these practical coats don’t work for every occasion. What if you have a big business meeting? A holiday party? A wedding? A night out on the town? Despite many of us wanting to stay in and hibernate all winter long, life goes on and we should at least make an effort to show up presentable for every situation.

I’ve rounded up six of my favourite STYLISH and WARM winter coats worth investing in. They’ll last you for years and work for those events where a puffy coat can’t deliver the best fashion forward message.

Six Stylish and Warm Winter Coats

Banana Republic Moto Cocoon Coat ($370)

Oversized cocoon silhouette coats are not only in style, but are extremely practical too. You can layer your thickest sweater or structured blazer under this type of coat and not feel restricted. This light coloured coat from Banana Republic with moto style details works well for many occasions.

Rudsak Grace Coat ($945)

If you can’t completely give up your puffy coat, go for a combination! This fitted puffer jacket from Rudsak creates interest and elegance with the asymmetrical zipper combined with fur trim details.

Gap Wool Trench Coat ($208)

We all know that trench coats are a classic, so why not try a wool trench to up the cold weather factor? This beautiful wool coat from the Gap has all the classic details of your favourite trench. Wear it belted for more elegant occasions, or wear without the belt if you want to add thicker and warmer layers underneath.

Sentaler Wide Collar Coat ($890)

This beautiful, simple, and minimalist coat from Sentaler will be a classic in your closet for years to come. Lady-like and fitted, with an oversized collar for added warmth, you really can’t help but feel sophisticated in this one!

Mackage Nori Coat ($650)

Mackage is a fabulous go-to brand for outerwear that looks great and while still being functional. I love this Nori belted coat with added wool layer at the neck; it will keep the blowing snow and brisk winds at bay.

Freed and Freed Montrealer ($950)

The Freed and Freed Montrealer coat has a removable hood and a snap in/snap out vest tucked inside. Remove the extra layers for those not-so-frigid days, and add them back to protect you from the harsh winter elements while still looking chic and stylish.

Have any of these made your wish list this year?
