Hi, I’m Candace Sampson—founder of Life in Pleasantville, host of What She Said, and the woman behind Girl Trips. I’ve been working in Canadian media for over a decade, telling stories that connect, challenge, and entertain women.

I started Life in Pleasantville in 2011 to capture real experiences—from travel and food to the messy, joyful bits of everyday life. Since then, it’s grown into a trusted resource for women who want more: more adventure, more connection, more honesty, and definitely more laughs.
Why You Can Trust Me
- Host of What She Said, Canada’s longest-running women’s talk show on radio turned podcast
- Member in good standing of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC)
- Published thousands of articles across lifestyle, travel, health, parenting, and personal growth
- Collaborated with destinations like Tourism Ireland, Tahiti Tourism, and Parks Canada
- Speaker, retreat host, and founder of Girl Trips, a women-focused Canadian travel brand
When I’m not writing, interviewing women doing amazing things, or planning group adventures across Canada, I’m probably caffeinating, power-walking through a creative block, or debating the merits of butter vs. olive oil (it’s butter, obviously).
