Passports with Purpose 2013

by Candace Sampson

I’m pretty excited to be participating in Passports with Purpose 2013. In September of this year, I attended the TMS Family Travel Conference in Niagara Falls and learned all about this amazing organization from Mara Gorman, one of the founding bloggers.

I fell in love with it.

Not a day goes by that I’m not fully grateful for the amazing opportunities, people and experiences I come through by traveling. With gratitude comes a need to give. For whatever reason, they go hand in hand, and that is why I’m jumping into Passports with Purpose 2013 with a full heart.

I’ve got four incredible prizes to contribute. Two on ChildMode where I’m a Contributing Staff Editor, one on YummyMummyClub where I’ve been a featured blogger for five years now and one here, on Life in Pleasantville, my own little happy place on the internet. But you have to wait until November 25th to see what those incredible prizes are. This is just a teaser because I’m like that. There’s much, MUCH, more too. One hundred and thirty eight bloggers from all over have come together to host prizes from amazing travel sponsors. Passports With Purpose 2013 is going to be simply incredible.

So, how do you get involved?

Easy peasy. Come back here on November 25th. I’ll have a prize listed here with links to prizes on ChildMode and YummyMummyClub. Alternatively, all prizes will be listed on the Passports with Purpose 2013 prize catalogue. Then, you have a very hard decision. How many raffle tickets are you going to buy ($10 per ticket) and where oh where are you going to put them? It’s going to be SO MUCH FUN! On December 9th, the contest closes and all winners will be notified by December 16th, 2013. Isn’t that a nice little Christmas gift?

You’re not doing all this for just you of course. You’re helping an incredible cause. This year, Passports with Purpose is hoping to raise $115,000 for buildOn. With this donation, buildOn will be able to build three schools and two adult literacy programs in Mali. Win-win.

Of course none of this would be possible without all the incredible travel bloggers who throw their heart into this every year and the amazing sponsors – Expedia, DK Eyewitness Guides, Rough Guides, HomeAway, Hostelbookers, Go With Oh and Eating London.

See you back here November 25th!

Interesting that my husband and I came across BuildOn in Flicker photos when Mali came up in a crossword on Sunday and we wanted to learn more. Looking forward to progress updates on reaching your goal of which I am delighted to be a part of.
