Coat your slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray.

Pour water and milk into slow cooker and add oats and sugar, stirring to combine.

Cover and cook on low overnight (between 9 and 10 hours).

Cut apples into pieces

In a non-stick frying pan, coated lightly with spray, add apples and cook over medium-high heat about 5 minutes. Toss apples occasionally.

Add brown sugar, a tablespoon of water and dried cranberries and heat through.

Remove from heat and toss with chopped walnuts.

Transfer oatmeal to bowls and spoon on warm apple topping.
