The likelihood of anyone here outgrowing our covetous (licentious) thoughts of Jamie Fraser from Outlander is exactly zero, so any excuse to post a photo of Sam Heughan will do. But don’t think our minds can’t get out of the bedroom for more than two minutes; we’re even spreading the love for a fun, new way to keep fit, a way to keep loving your garden, and a great show to binge-watch.
Robin Edwards – You know when you find a television series that is just so good that you can’t wait for the next episode? That’s how I feel about Ray Donovan. With the enigmatic (and Golden Globe® nominated for the role) Liev Schreiber as the lead, and a solid cast that includes the insanely good Jon Voight, I’m beyond excited that the series is returning this month for its third season. In the rich and glossy world of Los Angeles, Ray is the muscle that keeps the world’s most bankable stars on the right side of the law. Or at least the better side of the tabloids. With a family that teeters on the edge of destruction and a job that requires him to keep a shovel and a lot of garbage bags in the back of his pristine Mercedes sedan, Ray Donovan is out to clean up the mess, and I can’t wait.
Laureen Farnam – I have shied away from growing edible things because of a lack of space, mostly. Plus, it is always too cold, too late in the season here, to really start things indoors and lovingly transfer them onto a patio only to have them first freeze to death or, surviving that, wither and die in the midday sun. It’s nearly impossible to keep a planter on a concrete balcony watered properly. It seems like just as the last “risk of frost” day passes in Nova Scotia, people in other provinces start showing off the early beginnings of their beautiful bounties. Soon after a bumper crop of tomatoes or zucchini follows, that have people wondering “What will I do with them all?” Honestly I could cry. So, like any self-respecting wannabe gardener I do the one thing that makes me feel better, I get out the latest Lee Valley catalogue and dream. I think this self-watering planter would be really excellent on my patio. Next year.
Kelly Williams – I love reading, but I also like to get things done. As much as I wish I could spend a day in a hammock with fruity drinks and a stack of reading materials on hand, that’s just not my life right now. A few years ago, my husband introduced me to audible.com – a website chalked full of audiobooks and other spoken word entertainment. I listen to books I want to hear, of course, but I also listen to books that my kids are reading so I can keep up with them and have another line of connection to their lives. I have been crushing on the Outlander audiobook series read by Davina Porter from the get go and have listened to the whole series more than once. She is an amazing narrator and I definitely recommend getting the unabridged versions of these books.
Leslie Foster – Covet, covet, covet! I’ve always found bicycling challenging – sore hands, neck, and *ahem* butt. And I’ve had to stop running because of the impact. The Elliptigo solves both problems. It looks like so much fun.
Katja Wulfers – Do these earrings from the Etsy shop La Nostalgie France even need an explanation? When I first spotted them, I bookmarked them for my daughter and nieces like a dutiful adult. Then I remembered being dutiful gets old in about 22.7 seconds and I added a pair to my shopping cart for me. Life is too short to wear boring accessories.

OMG! I would *so* wear those glorious gluten filled earrings!
Love!
Outlander! need you say more? no but actually reading it for me is the real deal.
I’ve wondered about Ray Donovan. Sounds good. I’m heading to Lee Valley (no catalogue required) to check out the self watering planter. Could be awesome in our blistering summertime heat…
