Crush and Covet – Les Miserable, Def Leppard and Leather Cuffs

Def Leppard Concert T

The side effect of compiling a list of what the writers at Life In Pleasantville crush and covet is a personal list that grows every week. The other side effect is the realization that our crushes aren’t defined by what society or the media tells us is age appropriate, or intellectual enough, or too cheap, or politically correct, or … you see where this is going?

This is our place to indulge in a bit of fantasy. We get that life’s real priorities aren’t the latest shade of lip gloss, but dammit, sometimes a new lip gloss is just what the doctor ordered when we’ve cleaned vomit-covered sheets and the report we worked on for six hours vanished into the ether and the battery died in the car because it’s SO DAMNED COLD.

So, have at it, buy the lip gloss, or at least imagine buying it. And while you’re at it, let us know what your big crush is right now.

Candace Derickx – “I’m not even really sure how this madness happened but it would seem that I’m going to be rocking out this summer with good friends. Our first concert is Def Leppard in May and then we’ll end the summer with Motley Crue. Yes, I’m 45, which I think is way younger than they are, right? Anyhoo, my first priority is wardrobe obviously and I’m crushing large on this Def Leppard concert T found on Etsy. Next, a hair crimper.”

Def Leppard Concert T

Kelly Williams – “I already have a beautiful Citrus Silver necklace and pendant stamped with my kids’ names, but now I’m coveting this leather cuff. It’s got a rock and roll feel that I like and I know that I would be wearing this regularly if I could just get my hands on it. The leather cuff is made in Canada as is the silver pendant. You can choose from orange, black, and blue leather, but tan is currently sold out. I would not like to choose at all, instead I’ll take one of each!”

Kelli Catana – “As a book and scarf lover this scarf from Storiarts captures two of my most favourite things in one item. You can order the scarves featuring texts from various classic books including Les Miserables, Jane Eyre, Anne of Green Gables and The Raven. These scarves are not only beautiful but functional too. You’d never be without reading material wearing this!”

Les Miserables Book Scarf

Anne Radcliffe – “I’ve developed a taste for paranormal fantasy/romance novels as a way to indulge my favourite hobby when I just don’t want to think hard. Yasmine Galenorn’s Otherworld Series has been one of the ones I’ve been reading, and the latest, Panther Prowling, just came out! I’m trying to hold out for a bit, though, before I break down and buy it.”

Katja Wulfers – “What’s not to love? NOTHING! This phone case from Etsy feeds my vintage-loving, camera nerd heart. And because my phone is attached to my hand — I admit it! —I’d have a shelf or drawer reserved for all the phone cases I drool over, and then I could switch out my camera case to suit my mood. There’s a lot of drooling going on over here. This one suits today’s mood just fine.”

If your stove is anything to go by, maybe we’ll all get what we covet.

Yes, I’m thinking that maybe this list has magic….or Dee does. We’ll have to see how she does on her other loves.

My parents laughed and laughed when I told them we were going to see Def Leppard. I’ve regressed 🙂
