Crush and Covet: Champagne, Yogis & the Walking Dead

Nowhere but in Pleasantville will you find a more mixed bag (of nuts) than the people who write here and who contribute crush-worthy list items like alcohol, bendy, tasty men, and paraphernalia for your standard Walking Dead obsession. We like to offer variety.

Laureen Farnam – We have been revelling in a really beautiful extended Fall here in Nova Scotia. There have been lots of sunny days and temperatures have pretty much remained above zero. It is chilly enough early in the morning, though, to need a coat and this Katherine Barclay Houndstooth Coat from ADDITION ELLE is the coat I need. A classic cut, fully lined, winter coat in a bold print, that will easily take you from Fall into Winter. What’s not to love? Can’t you just see this with a cool, trendy, blanket scarf? I can also imagine  wearing this with a bright red scarf to give it a bit of a festive flare.

Nicole MacPherson – One of my favourite things about the holiday season is Christmas cookie baking. The warm, spicy scent of gingerbread filling the house is so festive and comforting, and who among us can resist biting the head off of a perfectly good gingerbread man? I certainly cannot. These asana cookie cutters from Baked Ideas would be the perfect thing for my Christmas cookie exchange with my yogi friends. I can’t stand it, they are too adorable. Look at the gingerbread man doing a backbend!

Dee Brun – I want this ! A delicious bottle of pink Piper-Heidsieck Champagne now available at the LCBO (check out local sources to find it outside of Ontario too). It’s new and it’s FABOOSH and perfect for the upcoming holiday season!! Let’s all drink a bottle and celebrate.

Candace Derickx – When I started having feelings for a redneck hillbilly three episodes into The Walking Dead, I was conflicted. Fast forward one month and six seasons later and my feelings are no longer conflicted. I’m seriously and utterly in love with the emotionally unavailable Daryl Dixon. I’m putting this mug on my Christmas list because Daryl can’t die. Right?

Kelli Catana – With the colder weather quickly approaching I am completely crushing on The Bay’s 2016 Olympic red mittens. These are the 7th edition of the iconic mittens and maybe my favourites so far. This year’s version has a very ‘cabin sock’ feel to them that lets you show off your patriotism and keep warm at the same time.

The best part about the red mittens though is that 30% of every sale from Hudson’s Bay goes towards athlete development. So not only can you keep warm this winter, you can help support our athletes too!
