Everything’s coming up roses and springtime and pretty this week on Crush and Covet. And we love it! While some of us are just barely out of the deep freeze, a few others are already ambitious enough to go bare-limbed. Grab a coffee and read through, then make your own list of crushes.
Nicole MacPherson – My darling baby cousin is getting married at the end of June, and I am so excited. I love weddings, but I especially love seeing someone special to me so happy. I have a closet full of dresses so I don’t technically NEED a new one, but oh! I am coveting this gorgeous sheath dress from Anthropologie. I am normally a strictly little-black-dress girl, but for a wedding in June I want something a bit lighter. This fits the bill: creamy and lovely with just enough black to make me feel like myself.
Laureen Farnam – I am going to assume everyone who reads the text on this awesome East Coast Canada pillow cover from Girliture Pillows, is rapping. Despite the fact that we have an undeniably strong Celtic heritage in Nova Scotia, don’t for a second think Maritimers are not capable of spitting some tasty rhymes. We are a musical lot and East Coast Music covers all genres. Diversity rocks! Meanwhile, I am loving this pillow cover. It is the perfect balance of practical and fun with a side of 90s nostalgia thrown in. I think I need to buy this pillow to keep my decor FRESH!
Kelly Williams – I’ve recently been looking for a new rain coat, one that is classic and fashionable. I saw a beautiful red one from Burberry, but its $2,195 price tag left me crushed, not crushing. With a little more looking around I came across this cute and affordable polka dot number from London Fog. I don’t know about you, but polka dots are sure to cheer me up on a rainy day.
Maija Craig – I’m STILL on a mission to decorate my house this year (after more than 2 years of being significantly neglected) and the only room that’s even remotely close to being considered “styled” is my living room, but it needs a few finishing pieces, like a table on which to rest my countless cups of coffee. I have my heart set on a round coffee table that’s airy and not too bulky and light enough so that it can be pushed out of the way for the impromptu dance shows the kids put on when the grandparents come over.
Candace Derickx – I’m pretty much in love with The Ottawa Clinic and all the fun things I’ve been introduced to lately, like the incredible Skin Medica products and Fraxel which has taken years of sun damage off my face, but I am absolutely gushing to anyone who will listen about Latisse. Why? Because for the first time EVER I have eyelashes. Real, honest-to-goodness eyelashes that are long and full. I’m a total convert for two reasons. First, fake lashes while lovely, are not only time-consuming and costly to maintain but actually decrease your natural lashes, something I can’t afford to lose. Second, the expensive mascaras you can buy to give yourself the appearance of full lashes are almost as expensive as Latisse, which gives you real lashes. This one is a no-brainer for me. Excuse me, while I go bat my eyelashes at someone.
