White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake

By //  by Candace Sampson 1 Comment

Recently I was invited to the opening of a new restaurant in Ottawa. Obviously, someone has finally taken note of my fine culinary skills *cough cough*. I'm kidding. Thankfully, someone did take note of my fine culinary taste buds. I asked The Pine's executive chef, Luc Doiron, if he'd share one of his recipes with my readers and he very graciously agreed. I can't wait to make this and then lock myself in a room to eat it. What? It's looks too good to share. White Chocolate and …

Grilled Shrimp with Sweet Chili-Lime Sauce

By //  by Candace Sampson Leave a Comment

My mother found this recipe in a House & Home magazine and it has become an instant favorite in our family. The shrimp is delicious, but it's really all about this sauce. The sauce is a flavour explosion. BAM! This is great for an appetizer at a party because it can be made ahead of time. It's also really great in the summer over a bed of cold Asian noodles or with a side salad. Grilled Shrimp with Sweet Chili-Lime Drizzle Ingredients: 2 454 g packages raw peeled large shrimp …

Martin’s AMAZING French Toast

By //  by Candace Sampson 4 Comments

I had this at a friend's house a couple of years ago and its become one of my favorite things to make for a large crowd for breakfast. I can't remember where she got it from, so we're just going to call this Martin's AMAZING French Toast. This past weekend my daughter requested it for her "birthday breakfast" with friends after a sleepover and I reluctantly complied(sarcasm font). It is by far one of the most decadent, delicious breakfasts you'll ever have, or as I like to call it, padding for …
