So, I was stumbling the other night, or pinning....either way I was in one of my happy places when I came across this recipe from Crepes of Wrath. I knew right away that I had to try it! I was immediately drawn to the salt and sweet of these cookies. It's like putting M&M's in your movie theatre popcorn, right? Heaven. (If you've never done this, you are missing out on one of life's great joys.) So anyway, I set about gathering ingredients to make them but what I didn't know was that I was …
French Onion Soup
Caramelized onions are one the most versatile ingredients you can have ready to go in your refrigerator. Cook up a batch big batch one day and then store in the fridge in an air tight container for up to 1 week. Use them in dips, for homemade pizza, put them on top of brie in the oven, toss them with pasta and cooked pancetta. The possibilities are endless. Homemade Marshmallows
I've seen a lot of recipes recently for homemade marshmallows and I've basically ignored them. I mean, making marshmallows is not really high on my cooking "to-do" list if you know what I mean. I was a little nervous about my culinary …
Lasagna
Lasagna is a hearty, stick to your ribs, comfort food. It's also a great meal to make for your freezer. I found this recipe at All Recipes and I think it is simply the best I've ever had. It makes one 9 x 13 Pyrex dish of lasagna. It can easily feed a family of four for two meals. It can be time consuming to make so I quadruple this recipe and make three 9x13 pans and two 8x8 pans for the freezer. The next four times I have it I feel like a genius! Cheese is expensive, so I stock up on Kraft …
Santa’s Favorite Cookies
We call these Santa's Favorite Cookies because when we put these out he didn't leave any behind. Not one. Santa also left a note saying "Please make these again". That pretty much says it all, doesn't it? I love these cookies because they are so easy to make after mass on Christmas Eve and the kids can help every step of the way. Santa's Favorite Cookies 1 cup butter at room temperature 2/3 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups all purpose …
