I’ve recently found myself drawn to listening to people. I’m addicted to talk radio and podcasts, and most recently I’ve fallen in love with audiobooks from Kobo. There is something incredibly soothing about someone telling you a story and I adore how versatile audiobooks are, especially since I don’t always have time to sit down and read. Listening to audiobooks from Kobo allow me to stay informed or entertained while on the move. The brain, after all, is a terrible thing to waste.
I listen to my audiobooks on walks every morning, in the car, on the train, and on a plane. I also listen to audiobooks when I’m grocery shopping, on the beach, or working at my desk. Perhaps my best revelation though has been in bed! My husband used to get irritated with my book light, so I stopped reading in bed. With my new found love of audiobooks from Kobo, I slip under the covers with my favourite author and drift away to a great story now.

What the Dog Saw – Malcolm Gladwell
True story; I find Malcolm Gladwell to be one of the sexiest men alive. There is something so fascinating about his voice and his brain. I’ve seen him on stage, read all his books and am devoted to his podcast. Listening to him read What the Dog Saw, is like the icing on the cake for me. Smart is sexy.
Outlander – Diana Gabaldon
I know I said smart was sexy, but equally appealing is a man in a kilt. What can I say, I’m complicated. My heart goes all pitty-pat just thinking about Jaime. Listening to this sweeping love story that travels to and fro through fascinating points in history is the perfect escape for me.
Furiously Happy – Jenny Lawson
When I read this book, I developed abs from laughing. My husband even kicked me out of bed one night for shaking the bed laughing in hysterics. That Jenny Lawson narrates this audiobook makes it all the better. She is brilliant. Highly recommend this one.
Braving The Wilderness – Brené Brown
2017 has been the craziest year for world events. It’s almost impossible to keep your sanity with the daily barrage of hate we see in our news feeds. That’s why Brené Brown is such a welcome voice in my head. She’s a calm, soothing, and rational person who can help calm your frazzled nerves.
