Walmart Mom of The Year

I got so excited about being involved in this, I decided to vlog about it. My apologies in advance for my extreme dorkiness.

So, there you have it, I belong in print. Put that aside for a second though and go nominate a mom you know at momoftheyear.ca. Then don’t forget to share the link with them to let them know how incredible they are.

You can check out my nomination for Heather here. Don’t forget to check out her incredible site Globetrotting Mama as well.

I sadly cannot be nominated this year, as I have already won the worst mother of the year title. Kidding. A little.

In addition to Heather though, I’d like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to some mamas I know that are rockin’ the mother gig. Much love to you ladies.

  4. Dude – you’re dorkiness is balanced out by your adorableness :) Great post! Thanks for thinking I’m a good mama…..no one in jail….yet!

  5. I don’t think you’re dorky at all – your passion shows through! I love it! And Heather Greenwood Davis is an amazing mom who is very deserving of this nomination. Great choice!

    • Candace says:

Aww,thanks Sharon. Although, I’m convinced I’m a dork, I bet if we did a vlog together we could totally bring dorkiness to a WHOLE NEW level :)

  6. Love this. Love you. Thanks for including me in this list of amazing mamas. And Heather Greenwood Davis? Hello… she rules. What an incredible gift she’s giving her family. I’m with you on the packing the bags thing. Maybe I’ll start my tour in Ottawa — home of the world’s most decadent waffles.

    • Candace says:

I really wish you’d stop kidding about this Ottawa thing and just get here already. Hello, big projector, waffles, sangria. Need I say more?

  7. I think your vlog was fantastic! Not dorky. And I am very touched to have been put in the company of all those top 50 great moms! You should certainly be one of them.

I want to place my vote for Aina Baron in Chilliwack without going into Facebook or Twitter.

  10. I am writting this for my daughter rachelle lappan. My daughter has raised 3 children on her own, with no assistance. She now is 50 years old and she now has her kids back with her., along with her grandchildren. She has gone through a lot of problems, but she still can put the food on the table. Her whole life has tryed to put all others ahead of herself. She has managed to buy a house, but she has no back porch and still needs a fence to keep the younger ones in. She is now having a problen with her car. She works hard and takes all the overtime she can get. Please look at this letter as she should be voted mom of the year. Thank you for listening. Barbara Chapman

  11. Love your vlog and this contest! Also love that you nominated Heather….what an amazing adventure she and her family are on. Thanks for the shout out on your list! Made my day. :) xo

  12. Is it dorky to cry alone in front of your computer at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, with a laptop and a glass of wine?  No?  PHEW.

Here I am — WITHOUT my kids on a press junket, soaking up the magnificent Rocky Mountains, LOADED with mommy guilt while trying to catch up on some work and I see THIS.  (I just saw this for the first time today.  Timing is Everything, right?)

That’s a lotta caps for one comment.  Sorry.

Wonderful post, Candace.  I’ll have to watch the video later as this place is fancy and all, blaring videos so I can hear them will probably get some some sideways looks.

Thank you so much for including me in this list of hard working mamas who just do the best they can, fall down and get back up again.  You truly are a women who I look up to in many, many ways.

Nows about the time you can tell me it was a DIFFERENT Michelle Davies. :)
