One Love

I’m leaving Jamaica today, but not forever, because Jamaica will always be a part of me. I love the people, the music, the food, the water, the sand, the sun and the green. Thank you Jamaica, for once again, being such gracious hosts. Much love. Candace xo

No Woman No Cry

I’m off to Jamaica for a press trip. I can’t wait to go home. After all, if you’ve been to Jamaica more than once, you’re family.

So, I’m going to slip into the attitude of the latitude for a few days and my songs for the next few days will be from Jamaican artists.

This song from Bob Marley is one of my favourites. Next to this one.

Soak Up the Sun

Today I woke up with the birds. For real. The weather has been so grey and miserable here lately, I barely noticed that the sun was fully up by 6:00am now. Surpisingly, I’m ok with getting up so early. These long days are here for too short a time and I want to be sure to take advantage of every glorious, sunny day we get. So I could be Walking on Sunshine, or proclaiming it a Beautiful Day, or shouting that The Sun is Shining, but today I want to just Soak Up The Sun.

Redemption Song

Whenever I hear this song, I close my eyes and float back to one of the most beautiful vacation memories ever. My husband and I traveled to Jamaica and stayed at Couples Swept Away on Negril Beach. It was a heavenly, child-free vacation and just when I thought we couldn’t get any more relaxed, they pulled lounge chairs for two out under the stars, offered cozy blankets to snuggle under, lit a bonfire, and brought out a man with his guitar. He sang many songs that night, but this song, this song was magic. Excuse me while I close my eyes now and drift away.

Three Little Birds

I’m off to Jamaica this week (look for my blogs on Yummy Mummy Club), and I’m getting in the mood by listening to Bob. It’s all Marley, all the time around here right now :)

Sun is Shining

This remix of Bob Marley’s Sun is Shining makes me happy. It’s a perfect summer time song.
